theres nothing really back there for it to be reinforcing, maybe if you got hit in the side by another car..
think about the way the rear suspension works on a sprinter.. to me, i dont think this would do much. you do see them on some factory cars.. maybe on type r hondas and r34 skylines? but they have irs, more likely to be channeling forces transversly through the rear of the chassis.
