Hi Jamie, seeing as no one has yet replied, let me share my experience with you. Sorry it is not direct 1GG-ZE! Both 1G conversions I have done did not go into limp mode, without signal from Auto. One was a 1GG-FE, and the other was a 1GG-TE. The other conversion with a 1JZ-GTE, also had no limp home problems when connected to a manual box.
From my understanding of the Toyota SC, they are switched by engine speed, on at RPM greater than 1800, and vacuum/boost air valves, and TPS ie. over run with boost still available would be a bitch!. Hope this helps in some way.
