Got the deck in and everything went well...except one thing. GOt the friggin power and accessories supply mixed up. Quickly checked the Sony instructions for the new deck, checked it with just temporary (leads all taped), seemed fine (Deck must have temporary memory - for like 1 minute where it holds presets). So I soldered up, put all back together then realised when it doesn't hold presets .
Red was "switched power supply" (accessories) and yellow was "continuous". Out of the 3 cars I've put decks in this one was the hardest removing heaps of trim etc.. (thanks Witzl for the article on deck install though, was gold) and make such a DUMB mistake .
You don't mind playing around with your own car, but it's my gf's...had her waiting and helping - took bloody ages.
Anyway, it's good for now - will rectify within the next month sometime , should be quick now I know how it comes apart and goes together.
Lost half of those silly little clips though, but didn't break anything..could be worse I guess
