while i totally agree with you guys, if you have a shit manifold already, then wrapping is a good intermediate thing until you get new pipes...
autospeed actually have damn good prices for it too.. i got some 1" and 2" for use at uni... DON't get the 1" as it's a pain to wrap pipes with.. 2" or wider is so much better.
i would DEFINITELY NOT recommend it for turbo manifolds or dump pipes, as it starts to melt around 600C.. is usually ok for NA tho.
Chris, if you have a new manifold/dump pipe, save the $50 or so for wrap and get them properly coated... better insulation, lasts longer, protects the pipes from corrosion.... just all around better.
but yeah, as a stop gap to prevent other shit melting before getting new pipes.. why not
