Wed, 16 June 2004 05:04 Syncros mainly, which is why the 185 Grp A and 205 boxes ended up with the upgraded gear. 165 boxes, while not fragile like a WRX box, will break though. A big hp 165 car in the US used to eat boxes on a regular basis. Last i heard he was trying a later model box but faded off the lists i'm on so don't know how he went. I've seen one rally ST 185 GrpA box go in the PRC Class. Bate's Grp N uses an aftermarket straight cut gear set. My current 190kw at the wheels has chewed out a twin plate clutch but the 205 box is still hanging in there (touch wood). She'll bag up all 4 off the line no probs. Pfitzner do a nice straight cut competition close ratio gearset and they are currently on 'run out' sale for around 5K [Report message to a moderator]
