I wouldn't bother with the 98 octane - heaps more in cost. Unless your car is pinging on the standard stuff it won't be worth it. You could advance timing a bit and run the good stuff, but then on a hot day and if you can only get normal petty your car will be pinging to the BS. I've had 'fiddles' with my timing and just got it so it runs without pinging on the normal stuff (turned out being what the manufacturer recommendes 10 deg BTDC), although ocassionally I can hear it ping slightly under certain load conditions, but I may need clean out carbon deposits to fully get rid of it [Report message to a moderator]
