They work on line-of-sight, and once inside structures they become fairly useless. I think the only system that really works are the Brant alarms, which can actually have the car ring your mobile phone when the alarm has been activated, and then you can control some of the features of the car from your mobile. I'm not sure if other brands use this technology yet, but it might be worth looking into if your after a feature like that. [Report message to a moderator]
