Generally insurance can't decline you for breaking the law, I mean most accidents involve breaking the law in some way (whether you get charged or not). Would make insurance quite pointless.
There are exceptions for driving an unroadworthy car (if it contributed to the accident and you should reasonably have known about the fault), drugs, alcohol and not having a licence.
Biggest problem will be how much it impacts on future insurance.
