There are plenty of options that will give much better results than a fiddled-with 18R-C. An engine conversion is the most obvious option - after all, you can't polish a turd. Well you can try, but it's going to cost you.
Don't expect to find "bolt-on" parts for an 18R-C - it's not a performance engine, so no-one sells performance bits for it. You're looking at lots of custom work if you want a fast 18R-C I'm afraid.
