Dude, to fit a W58 to a RA28 you have to fiddle with the mounts. I got an auto crossmember and turned it around also, you can seperate the rubber bit from the steel bit and turn that around too (it was a while ago so memore is a little sketchy). The idea is to get the crossmember sitting as far back(or forward, I can't remember  ) as possible, then you can get one hole on each side to line up, you then have to weld a bit on and drill out for the other 2 holes.
Look at the transmission pic on the sixworks article on putting 1ggte's into early celicas. it has a shot of the crossmember, the 2 holes look off-center because they have been added.
If you don't have the auto crossmember then just modify the manual crossmember more (like the sixworks one)
