Not meaning to discourage you in any way dude, but FARK that was funny! Very Happy

Here are the steps that I take:
1. Place oil catch underneath the sump plug
2. Undo sump plug
3. Undo oil filler plug
4. Leave to drain (for as long as you can, I tend to leave it overnight, but I'm anal)
5. Remove old filter
6. Place grease around lip of new filter and put it on (hand tighten only)
7. Do up sump plug
8. Fill her up but not too much
9. Do up filler plug
10. Start the engine and let it run for a while
11. Check the oil level and top up as needed
12. Pour oil into a container and dispose of properly

As for a book, find a Haynes manual. That will tell you all you need to know.
