Even with the loudest muffler you'll only gain around 7 kw. And since you want a quiet system you won't gain that much anyway. The $200 or so dollars could be better spent IMHO. Failing that have you seen those Honda MUGEN style mufflers which are canons with an additional pipe on the side to drown out noise? I've seen a FTO with one of those but it wasn't moving so I can't tell you how it sounds.
