Yeah i think i mine where 10mm lift but the lobe is very much throw it open then shut.I was after a longer duration to hold the valve open longer not so much more lift.
As for your cams and installing them,with the motor at top dead centre then the inlet cam should have the bucket down .125" and the exhaust should be .081" lift.If they aren't then they are timed wrong and need to be rectified.
Just need a degree wheel and dial guage to set them up properly and all should be sweet.
Are you just fitting some cams or doing the whole motor as well?Cause if you are doing the whole motor then set the cams up while the motor is in the engine stand with the head just bolted on and no head gasket,also put some play dough on the piston,to make sure the valves will not kiss the pistons.Once you have them right then you can put it all together with the gasket giving you that little bit of extra clearance.
If not the winding over by hand very gently by hand should allow you to feel if they want to hit or not.
Does anyone have the open and close specs for the std cams as i would be interested to compare.
