Mon, 16 September 2002 07:00 oh.... they are talking about raodside MANNED speed cameras (ie, a camera with a person supposedly controlling it) NOT the fixed permanent un-manned speed cameras we have scattered around sydney here. Yes paul is right, they used sensors in the road. 3 Ultrasonic sensors to be precise. On some of them (eg the one on james ruse drv just after the bridge) you can see three strips running across the road... thats where the sensors are placed, and there is one set of sensors for each lane so you cant hide from them most of the new ones also dont have flash, they are Infra red from memory.... or something like that....
