toynado Regular Registered: May 2004	Re: the ultimate 22re head Sat, 26 June 2004 18:09 there's lots of reasons to keep the stock motor i thot about a smaller motor but that seems foolish in a truck and any swap is lots of work and $$$ and i can get almost 25 m/gallon now if this is disappointing i mite try another motor but i'm not looking for race power it's a lifted 4x too dangerous to race crazy style ... not that i don't try building the stocker is actually MUCH cheaper than a swap i'm keeping the stock pistons and i'm in L A the city the angels avoid ... no one seems to build these without buying a lce stage 5 head but i can't get anyone to tell me about their powerband and $1500 for a head for this motor seems absurd i'm mostly skeptical about the swirl technology in the stock head ever seen the intake ports? really really weird never seen another head like it doubt it actually works like advertised swirl for low rpm power, sposedly ? but that was right wen that one motor builder exposed his swirl tech for nascar, and caused all that controversy, which motivated the toy head designers i assume but the nascar builder didn't really get proved correct as far as i can tell the choked down velocity port ideas came from motorcycle builders and the stock intake has poor injector aim and design i could maybe gain sum mileage with a homemade manifold and power i'd expect [Report message to a moderator]
