I finially got the car to the engineer yesterday, he had a look at how i cut the holes in the front, it passes because the loads going through the front of the car go through the top removable bar and the fixed cross member underneath the radiator.
Where the holes were cut there was double thickness metal that goes up to the headlights, that was cut, but this was OK because it does not join the the cross member. I must admit he did have a bit of a look tho.
So there you go, thats what i found.
BTW i did not pass the damn test, the engine bay was fine, but i was told that the odyssey battery that i put in the boot had to be in a sealed box, as well as clamped down inside it. I built a mostly wooden box that retained the battery tightly inside it, and made it so that if in an accident, the box would stay around the battery. apparently not good enough.
The other problem i had was that apparently the surge tank and fuel system must be contained in a fire resistant enclosure with venting to the outside of the car. i know of many other cars engineered with the same fuel system, no metal sealed boxes for them, WHY 4 ME!!!
