4A-GZE conversion into AE92 can't be easy as it sounds!?! Wed, 30 June 2004 04:16 Go to previous message
Hi everyone,

I have done a lot of research on this conversion, and by all accounts it seems that a 4A-GZE conversion into an AE92 Corolla hatch is one of the easiest around. Or is it?

I have read the tech article from here and also a few others that were floating around on the web...but I have to say that none of them really described in detail how to do this conversion. Most of them were just accounts of people's experience with this conversion, and read more like a story than a detailed tech. article. Surely the conversion can't be as easy at it sounds in these articles....what about engine mounts, vacuum lines, fuel lines, oil lines? Surely these can't all match up...there must be some sort of custom work to be done, that wasn't mentioned in these tech. articles?

I want to do this conversion, but before I drop the engine in, I want to turbo convert it. This has been done before many times on a 4A-GZE, but I can't find anywhere on the net that describes in detail this sort of mod like what turbo sizes to use, what fits/doesn't fit, etc.

Does anyone have a good internet reference that describes in detail the pitfalls and adavantages and the mods that need to be done to not only turbo convert but then drop the engine into a Corolla?

Thanks for any help!
