In reality, you would need to give the system a check over, and make sure the absence of a compressor hasnt let any unwanted bits get into the system, and that the rest of the system hasnt degarded too much. You might well need a new condensor (or valve thingy). They usualy need replaced if the system has been idle for a long time any way. Also, you would have to get a compressor that is compatable with the same gas the the rest of the system used to run, other wise you may need to rebuild the compresor or the rest of the system to be compatable. The older R12 and the new R(whatever it is) will destroy any gaskets that are ment for the other type of gas. Craig. [Report message to a moderator]
