My GZE ae92 was as Jason described. Pretty much pull out and drop in.
My biggest hassles were wiring (i wasnt confident enough at first, and so a mate gave a hand, and my intercooler piping. Had to modify that setup a few times.
The other big hassle was that i did it over christmas, hence most businesses were closed when i needed stuff . Up side was that it wasnt freezing cold, and i had time off.
