Tue, 06 July 2004 05:47 Both cam covers are interconnected from the Toyota factory and the pressure is even across both, so I see no benefit in making it any more complex. The 1JZ Jap kits I looked at are hooked up this way I describe and they have been modding the engine a little longer than us... I've been running my 1JZ this way for 4 years and have seen no reason to change. The function of the oil/air separator is pretty simple - separate the oil from the vapour being plumbed back through the turbos, intercooler, throttle body, intake manifold and into the combustion chamber - this method achieves this very effectively and being a sealed system is road legal in NSW.
