Why don't you take it to a workshop and let them have a look at it for you,just don't tell them what you think is wrong.
If it is the headgasket and you haven't done one before then it might be cheaper for you to get them to fix it,or there is some copper sealer stuff that is meant to work a treat.With 320 klms it might be the best option.At least then you can still drive it till it stops then do a eng swap with the money you save.
