Sorry, I put this up somewhere else:
As for the 5ME, get yourself a large K&N pod filter, try to jimmy up a joiner or something from the AFM to the filter and put it in the space you rip the air-box out of.
Get some high-density foam, the heat-proof stuff, with, if you can get it, the aluminium foil backing and use it so seal off the enclosure with the pod.
Then try to get some cold ventilation to the area.

You should be able to buy just a generic K&N filter to use.
