in my opinion anyone who want a gasless mig hasnt done their research. the strength of the weld they provide is much inferior to a gas sheilded wire both in final appearance and weld strength. simple. i know i was being a bit too blunt about it but the facts are clear. also gasless migs are almost invariably the cheapest ones with the least power and duty cycle. as you said

i am simply giving my professional opinion as a boilermaker on these machines. get a decent mig and then if you want gasless by all means use it just not for anything that is highly stressed.or holds much pressure.
