If your brake pedal is excessively hard, there is something wrong with your brakes; the pedal in an AE82 should be quite compliant. Upgrading to a bigger booster is not the answer here.
The first thing I'd check is the hose connecting the booster to the plenum; if this is leaking or disconnected entirely the booster won't work properly. The booster itself could also be a problem, eg punctured diaphragm, so that's another thing to check. Failing that it's something more serious amiss, such as a seized caliper.
If you don't feel confident messing around with your brakes I'd recommend taking the car to a reputable mechanic (if such a thing exists).
