This curfew was actually brought up about 6years ago, during a meeting I had with quite a high up RTA exec,if you could call the useless waste of air that.. I will be surprised if it doesnt come in! Once again it proves how out of touch these people are that make decisions that affect the population of this country..I absolutely blasted him, they were also talking about (driving in the wet) bans aswell.jokers..All it comes down to is it is cheaper to ban drivers than invest money in training them to a level that will enable them to handle themselves in all driving conditions:
My sloution ,
as aften people winge and then dont offer an alternative,
is:
Keep the same minimum 50-60 hours of driving but make it mandatory to take 5 professional driving lessons.

Education seminar consisting of, crash videos(dont have to be too graphic but still have to make an impact)car handling, and tricks and tips of defensive driving techniques.

Driving test: Standard, plus freeway merging test and wet weather test on specialist couse, this will be completed towards the end of the 6 months L's.

Restriction of power output of car, till the end of your P's( I seriously dont agree with 17yo drivers being able to get behind the wheel of even a Skyline GTS).big penalities should apply here and even bigger if you lend your car to someone of this age.
thats just a start but I think it will make more of an impact than the stupid proposal they have suggested.
