there is a difference in master cylenders betwen the disk and drum setup. the drum master has a resrictor for the rear to keep pressure there so the drums dont suck in air. this also makes a disk rear constantly drag the pads and wear them out faster.
the proportioning is carried out internally by the master cylender and can only be changed profesionally (big $$$) or by some major reworking of the brake setup.(not recomended)
i have a stock AE82 twinky setup in my rolla with new custom grooved rotors, ebc greenstuff front pads and bendix metal rears.
these brakes stop VERY well with great feel 160-0 with no fade at all. dont know how long they can be pushed for tho.
the shudder you are experiencing may also be a hairline crack caused by heat and the rotors being too thin. these only show themselves when the rotor gets hot and expands
solution- overhaul and upgrade and youll have a safer car
