extractors you can get thru repco for the 18r just dont forget lots of heat proof paint and header wrap!
lots of improvement can be made on the intake side of things on the 18r-c twin SU's or custom 4 into one XF throttle body with LPG and it should get up and go never got around to trying that but the stock inlet manifold is very crap,
thay defiently respond well to LPG as anyone that went in my little silver bullet will remember,
other then going twin cam you could just throw a turbo on it cost of rebuilding a twincam to the cost of puting a turbo on would be on par, say and with the cast iron head and some good pistons/rods could probably stuff some serious air in the bitch 
Aim for low revs more torque tho as high revs is just asking for a dead chain to come out and visit you!
Would be "DIFFERENT" to see a killer 18r-ct
I would only suggest the above if you really dont want a 1g-ge
there was some place is SA earlyer in the year selling 18r-c piston's + rings for $2.50 a pop!
