it took me the purchase of new tools to remove the steering rack bolts to the crossmember (56ft lbs!), had to use a breaker, with a large extention to get the purchase. (the car is on ramps at the front).
Thats as far as i got, after i installed a new brake master.
but after that, remove 2 cotter pins, figure out how to undo tie rod nuts, look like its a nut, with some crazy pattern on it.
remove the bolt holding the steering shaft into the rack (11mm bolt i think)
and pull the entire rack out with tie rods on it.
you can HAVE my rack if you want....its toast and leaking fluid, also has a FUBAR'd boot.
Based on what i heard (nathan and cruizda alike) the fluid heats up and rack dies. Im going to rerun my lines and install an oil cooler where the U bar is.
