The car was sprayed by Nathan Shepard. He's a professional spray painter and his family owns the business West Side Panels in Launceston Tasmania. The car was originally owned by Nathan. I was actually lucky enough to buy the car after Nathan finished painting it. From what I was told he won a few trophies and sold it to me. This was before I started the big rebuild number 2. I'd hate to say what the paint job is worth in terms of a dollar value due to the fact it was a labour of love not money by the first owner. What I actually bought was a fully resprayed show car that had just been put back together. I then fully gutted the car and started from scratch. I rebuilt the 2T, replaced all the suspension and wheels and installed the stereo. I replaced heaps of tiny bits just to make it perfect. Nathan did a bloody good job and I finished it off. I basically paid for a paint job and got the car for free. The Celica started off nice but ended up perfect. The engine will be something special and worth waiting for. I have not finished with the little beast yet. I love getting ideas and taking mental notes. Rod, now you know why I took a shit tin of photos of the Celica’s at the Auto Saloon last year. Research is the secret to success, not to mention starting off with a nice body to begin with.
