DDT I've seen an old Galant painted in Gunmetal Grey Hammer finish - it looked pretty funny - hid a few imperfections but in the end was a shitty finish. How does flat paint show more impections than gloss paint?. I'm going by the theory that imperfections are noticable as changes in the texture of the painted the surface, usually leading to changes is gloss. As gloss paint reflects the incident light in a fairly straight line, and flat paint scatters incident light (hence the flatness) everything I've seen points to flat paints hiding surface imperfections much better than gloss.
