Ground your pump ! I was trying to say you *could* join the negative from the pump to the wire from the 85 pin, which is going to earth. As said above, earth your pump somewhere close to where it is mounted.

You won't have a COR on a TA22 with carbs and no EFI. This is where is gets a little tricky for you and it has been covered in other posts, so SEARCH as well.

If you switch your pump from your IGN wire, it will always pump when IGN is on, which is not good if you have had an accident and your car is upside down and on fire, with the pump feeding fuel to it. There are other better ways to switch the pump on and off including using the oil pressure sender signal and/or a mercury micro-switch.

But I don't know enough to comment with knowledge here. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
