I previously tried Mobile 1 5W50, but I beleive it is too thin for this type of engine. I currently run NGK sparkplugs (roughly $2 each), however the first set of NGK BKR6E-11's (gapped to 0.8mm) were the wrong type and didn't work very well (ran on 4-5 cylinders after a while). I have been told by a reputable 1JZ mechanic to buy Denso Iridium plugs (IK20 5304), 0.4mm u-groove, tappered cut. I think they are stock plugs too. I have these now and they were $108 for a set all up. Very expensive. How come you didn't have the 2JZ water pump fitted? I have a 2JZ-GTE water pump on mine and it works great. When you do your plugs check that there is no oil in the valley. If there is you may need to change your cam seal. [Report message to a moderator]
