Sorry to resurrect this, thinking more seriously about attacking it now. Crossmembers: AE/KE/TE are interchangeable. TE (ie. TE71, TE72) use recirculating ball steering. AE, KE use rack and pinion. Goal: KE70 shell, 2T-G, rack and pinion. So: 1. Fit TE crossmember and adapt rack and pinion to suit. Is this feasable, by welding mounts onto the crossmember from a sample KE70 rack maybe? 2. Utilise AE/KE crossmember with rack and pinion and adapt 2T-G to suit (prefer use KE70 member as fitted OEM.) Is KE crossmember front sump? Is AE crossmember front sump? Is the KE/AE steering rack et. al. the same? ie. If using AE71 crossmember will the existing KE rack fit it? [Report message to a moderator]
