i tell this to everyone whats a few hundred compared to a new motor. As far as im concerned its the only way to tune a car, you will get the most acurate air fuel ratios, and also you get a fugure of hp, kw and NM. you dont get figures on the road.

that wont help him get it started
and its pretty easy to get it tuned on the road using datalogs and specialised tuning software which analyses the feedback from the o2 sensor. targetting any other AFR than 14.7:1 is hard without wideband o2 though. so for turbos, wideband o2 is important, but not essential.
nice to get it running very nicely without spending buckets of money on dynoes, especially since the megasquirt is budget system. my car was converted from carbies to efi and tuned sweet, all for well under $1000, that includes ALL parts
