i'm not sure about sprinters
but every other car i've owned\driven i always find the variable brightness thingo a whole waste of time. the only reason why i change it is when it vibrates from its max setting to something lower...but thats just me, i like my dash display bright Very Happy



i wish i could offer something else to this thread...the first thing that popped into mind when i read the title was attach it(multimeter) in series with the rheostat and it should be self explanitory once you've figured out which side(+ or -) dims the lights,so to speak...but its been covered Sad
