the main problem will be headspace restrictions for the front section and the main hoop.
from the "code of practice of light vehicle modification"
(i apologise for the size)

as mick said, rear weld in (or bolt) with a bolt in front section for 'off-road' is acceptable.
to have a full cage with tubes near your head and A pillars would require some fancy bending and construction to maintain headspace...
