I didn't realise I'd have to burn the files to CD to make it all happen.

If you don't want to burn a CD, just grab one of those CD emulators (do a search on Tucows or similar). That way you can create a "virtual CD" from a folder on your hard drive, and the EPC software will think it's running off a CD.
