CelicaRA45 Forums Junkie Location: nth ringwood, Victoria Registered: August 2002	Re: My new 18RG head **now with pics** Fri, 13 August 2004 12:37 so melvin you will need 4mm shims know which puts a bit of weight in to the bucket, you would of been better to weld or hard face than take the base circle away .they were designed to have 1.5mm shims up to 3.20 mm max after this the shim can move out and get stuck up under the bucket pushing the valve down further towards the piston, but only up in the high rev range 5500 onwards. be very wary about this ,seen it happen a few times as the harmonics of the engine at high rpm few bent valves and a few holes in the piston. ps my 2 cents [Report message to a moderator]
