As i expect the spring are orginal i was thinking of replaceing them to. Reason not for lowering as its my ownly car and driving in and out of carparks alot and speed humps are bad enough now with out lowering it

What i would like is to stiffen the car up a bit more if possible

If you're going to replace the springs with new ones there's little purpose going OEM. You can fit uprated springs without changing the ride height. Be aware that most off-the-shelf aftermarket spring packages won't actually increase the spring rate much (perhaps ~10-15%, perhaps because this rate will still be adequately bound by OEM dampers?). If you're getting serious you could go harder.

I pedders quoted me $515 just to suply and fit the front shocks and about $300 just to supply

$150ea for front damper inserts is about what you'd expect to pay at Pedders. Were they 'Comfort Gas' inserts or something else? For that money I'd be looking at KYB dampers, which are available for this application; ask Whiteline for the part number. If you're considering brake upgrades too (ie. Corona strut) you'd want to arrange that first and then buy inserts to suit. I think Koni yellow dampers are available for RT132.

Bushes are starting to purish but so thinking of replacing them at the same time.

Polyeurethane rebushing kit is available through Mackay Consolidated Industries under the SureTrak brand. Part number [KIT57] incorporates seperate Mackay kits for lower and upper rear trailing arms, panhard rod, radius beam and lower inner control arm bush. I found it to be more affordable to buy KIT57 than any other collection of polyeurethane bushes seperately.

Have 8 inch rims on the back and tend to rub when people sit in the back.

There are only three ways to remedy this. By my order of preference, these are;
1. Refit sensible wheels
2. Guard modifications
3. Decrease rear bump compliance

(3) can be delivered by fitting high-rate springs and appropriate dampers; though you may find that an oversprung rear end will be skittish and prone to skate under lateral G's and poor (or not glass-smooth) surfaces. Good for drift, not so good for anything else.

Ask youself what it is about your 900kg TA22 which requires 8" rubber though and you'll be a long way towards fixing your scrubbing issues.

Another thing i've hear that the rear sway bar after market doesn't really do much?? whats your guys opinion on that.

An aftermarket rear bar should minimise body roll at the rear suspension during cornering and increase the propensity of the car to oversteer/decrease the propensity of the car to understeer. Following on from your last point, what size differential are you running between front and rear tyres and what is the turn-in behaviour like at present as a result?
