Be very careful of the crank motor over method as this can do damage to the teeth of either a) the starter motor or worse b) the gear on the flywheel.
Ben in this exact same deal, took us about 2.5 hours to get the bolt out. Fortunately the pulley came right off without the need to resort to a pulley puller tool.
Broke some sockets in the process. This is what we did.
1. soaked the thing in yield (industrial strength release fluid)
2. used a six sided socket (makes a hug difference)
3. used a four foot bit of tubing over the socket handle for greater leverage
4. Took off the starter motor and mad up steel wedge on the grinder that jammed in the ring gear of the fly wheel perfectly (careful not to damage or bend sandwich plate)
5. Two guys stopping the flywheel from rotating and one guy busting his frekle on the bar
6. With the radiator out we also used an impact driver to try and 'shock' the bolt into releasing as well as swapping back to the bar and socket.
It was a bitch, so when we put it all back together we used assembly lube so we don't get stuck in the same position any time soon.
