Camry ignition problem Tue, 17 August 2004 23:06 Go to previous message
Hi Guys,

I've just joined this group to try and sort out a problem with a friends Camry. It's an 89, 2 litre DOHC, 24 valve motor, with a carby. Every time you start it cold, it runs on 3 cylinders and once warm, kicks in no1 cyclinder. I replaced the plug leads thinking that would fix it, but, no it did not.

The NO1 plug lead appears to fire a very week spark and then after a while picks up and fires the plug. I'm suspecting the dizzy with it's built in coil?

Anyone had this problem before?

Cheers,

Ron
