Hi All....
Actually, there are about 4 different major variants of the 16v
4ag engine.....
4age 88Kw, has 9.4:1 comp ratio, with 3 and 7 Rib blocks, big
port head. Found in early MR2, and Corolla.
4age 100Kw, has 10.4:1 comp ratio, with only 7 Rib blocks, small
port head. Found only in the Corolla FWD.
4agze 140Hp, has 8.0:1 comp ratio, with 7 rib blocks, SC, big
port, no oil squirts (Some do, some don't), found in AW11, &
Corolla.
4agze 160Hp, has 8.9:1 comp ratio, with 7 rib blocks, SC Smaller
pulley SC pulley, small port, oil squirts. Found only in Rolla.
Good jump for SC guys is to simply swap the old 4AGZE for new
4AGZE, and that alone will give a considerable jump in power.
The setup, I'm contemplating doing is Small port 100Kw 4age
bottom end with a Big port 4age 88Kw. That way you get the
benefits of good torque bottom end, and good reveability at top
end, with a little bit more power!!!!
Anyway.... got good experience with force induction, but not
that knowledgeable with NA engines, and hence, the questions.
