Wed, 18 August 2004 23:48 Check that the terminals aren't oxidised - the oxide has a huge resistance and can cause problems. Clean both the terminals and the inside of the cable clamps and try again. If that doesn't help, it may be one of the plates/cells in the battery has died. Do you have a multimeter to check out what the voltage is with the +ve disconnected ? Each cell should give about 2 volts. Also check the fluid level, and it should be about 1cm above the plates in each cell. Good luck, as batteries are heavy to walk with !!!!
