100kw engine problem, maybe oil related

the problems are comming from my 100kw conversion into an ae82.
when i first start the car, if i try to move it in the first couple of minutes of starting it, i get troubles. then engine wont rev like it does usually, untill a couple of minutres after starting it.
if i try slipping the cluth out to reverse out of the garage at anything under 2000rpm the engine just dies. i really have to rev it to about 3k rpm and then let the clutch out just to reverse! after letting the car warm up a little, this problem goes away, and i can take off normally.
i think its some problem with my oil. when i start to rev the engine, the oil light slowly fades on, and then fades away by 2500rpm. also if i slightly put my foot on the accelrator, just enough for the revs to very slowly build up, when the revs hit 2000rpm, it hesitates and dropes down a bout 400-300revs, slowly builds up to 2000rpm and then drops a couple hundred revs again, over and over!
anythingover 3000rpm is fine, the oil light doesnt come on and the car revs out hard all the way to 7000rpm. although since this problem ive recently had with driving the car without letting it run for a bit, it the whole rev range feels a bit sluggish?
whats the diagnosis? i think it could be my oil pump, or maybe i just need an oil change?
