I don't mean to hijack the thread but is there any way to tell if a diff centre is lsd and NOT welded without opening it up?

Drive in a circle with full lock applied. If it doesn't shudder, chirp and hop (or snap an axle), then it's an LSD.

Well, I dunno man, but with only a small amount of throttle but letting the clutch out reasonably quickly, mine acts like a locker too and locks up damn toit too....
Yours may shudder and chirp and hop, but compared to a welded diff, it's smooth as!
Steve's method of jacking up one side certainly sounds like a very good way to check tho.
