1st Gen Round headlights standard was 165/75?SR 14..Pathetic.. Then Toyota had a quick sanity attack and went to 175/70SR/14 and later in the 2nd Gen(Rectangular headlights)it was 185/70HR/14..I think you can go to 195 on standard rims..you need to ask at a tyre service to confirm that. This was in Australia.. In the UK they had 155/13"/5" rims (and a 1600 engine) in the first instance on the ST Coupe,the ST had 165SR14, the GT and XT had 185/70HR/14"... I have 205/60/14 on 6 inch rims...a nice balanced combination...I have some 7" rims but just a bit wide on the front (but that may because of the massive offset on those particular rims (old Cheviot Turbos)..I was told yesterday they were originally designed for use on 4 stud Fords)..
