Mon, 23 August 2004 06:48 munki i disagree with you and agree with turbora28, my mate is a panel beater and the best job in the world would stills ee rust come back put in 3-5 years BUt rust proofing should be lifetime if done correctly your best bet is not to wait for another shell cause that will cost you bout $1000 and that will have rust somewhere and to get that fixed will also cost BUT for bout $1000-$1500 (max cause its shell only) you can get it all sand blasted and every SPEC of rust will be gone 100%, then if you know how to weld then weld plates where required or get the panel shop to do it now if you sand blast it, weld everything required and rust proof it THEN rust should never ever come back if you look after it correctly, ie, fish oil the inside of panels where no paint will be and rust proof paint the outside, then etch primer, primer and paint 9or you can jsut lay primer on think to cover for etch primer makes no difference at all) for my car i am paint stripping all the panels as there is no rust on them and are straight and sand blasting the shell only to get all rust out. works out cheaper than a full sand blast [Report message to a moderator]
