The TA27 had the 2T series engine (1600cc) and the RA25 had the 18R series engine (2000cc). These are JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) models and weren't exported to other countries. These vehicles were the predecessors for the later RA28 series, which was exported and is what you mostly see in Australia. The TA27/RA25 basically had the TA22 running gear underneath, and as such they have a shorter nose than the later RA28 model. They look the same, but when you park an RA25 next to an RA28 you can notice the difference in nose length and bonnet. The RA28 had the bulge in the bonnet (as per RA23 coupe), whereas the TA27/RA25 had the flat bonnet of the TA22 series - but with some fancy triple-fluting along each side. The TA27/RA25 also have 5 rear lights per side, as opposed as 3 per side on the RA28. Come to the Show & Shine in October and you'll probably see some RA28s and an RA25.
