jza70-mel Regular I supported Toymods Location: Perth WA Registered: May 2002	Re: 1jz wastegate acurator Mon, 30 September 2002 13:23 Poombah - You have to be a little wary taking the AFC's reading from the factory MAP sensor as a "true" pressure. All that is happening is the AFC takes the voltage and converts it to a "pressure" number. The AFC is a generic device that has not been calibrated specifically with the Toyota MAP sensor which may have non-linear characteristics. I have the AFC also reading off the factory MAP, and a AVC-R with it's own sensor. Not suprisingly there is a minor differnce that can be up to 0.05 bar. I actually don't trust either to give me a true reading, but use them to make sure that everything remains consistent. Also - yes the factory rubber lines do perish after the 10+ years of underbonnet heat. They can crack and lead to boost leaks that reflect in under-reading boost. [Report message to a moderator]
