An update on that one. I wrote the previous message after jiggin and shakin the door n switches, checked all other electrical stuff and everything was fine. The driver window went hairy for a while after installing a boost guage that was cased to earth on the vehicle. We solved this by insulating the meter from its case. I even reset the ECU to no avail.
Came back a couple of hours later, after posting, no more done and hey presto it works again.
